I would like to thank the staff, coaches and students of Winona-area schools withe whom I’ve worked over the last eight months here at the Winona Post. Without their kind assistance I would have been unable to bring coverage of the tumultuous 2018 varsity sports season to our readers. I would especially like to thank Casey Indra, activities director at Winona Senior High School (WSHS), and Seth Hawn, activities director at Cotter, without whom I would have really been in the soup. I want to thank all of the head and assistant coaches who have enthusiastically talked with me about their student athletes at Winona Senior High School, Cotter, Rushford-Peterson, and Galesville-Ettrick-Trempealeau. And I’d like to thank all of the young athletes, aspiring scientists, and up-and-coming creatives of Winona-area schools, who made the 2018 year so exciting to write about.
I would like to thank the staff at Cotter and WSHS for being so responsive to sports questions and for keeping me informed about other activities around the local schools and community. Without their tips we would have missed out on a lot of interesting, funny, curious and exciting stories. The senior high staff who went above and beyond to track down stats and information, and the Cotter staff who were all so remarkably warm and welcoming — these are the people who created and brought the stories to us, so that we could bring them to you. I’m just the person who wrote it down and relayed it to our readers.
Have a great summer!
