Democracy at stake: Don’t stand on the sidelines

(6/25/2018)

From: Steve Schild and Mike Bernatz

Join us Sunday, June 24, at 1 p.m., in Winona’s Windom Park for a gathering of concerned citizens. Current attacks on fundamental concepts of our government are causing division when unity is needed. We can, as a country, do better than the current administration is doing on matters ranging from health care, gun violence, tax policy, cyber security, immigration, the environment, and net neutrality, to consumer protection. The gathering will have no speeches, sign-up sheets, or fundraising. We only ask that you show up. Your presence, taking only a few minutes of your time, will convey your concern.

We owe it to ourselves, and each other, as an expression of citizenship, to confirm ideals at the heart of this nation. Please gather on the Broadway side of Windom Park to stand up for democracy. Consider the risks of sitting on the sidelines — doing nothing.
