Matter of Faith: Mother Bel

To suggest that God uses key historical dates to point to verses in the Bible might seem foolish, and perhaps “wise” Bible scholars despise such teachings, but here’s the reason the 1950 Korean Battle of Chosin Reservoir began on 11-27.

1 Corinthians 1:27-28a: “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen … ”

In a previous letter I attempted to show the spiritual connections between Billy Graham and wife Ruth Bell, to Alexander Graham Bell and deaf wife Mabel Bell, as related to “calls,” and “hearing.” I mentioned that his father-in-law, L. Nelson Bell, died exactly 51 years after A. Graham Bell, and that “Area 51” Art Bell died on April 13 exactly 51 days after Billy Graham. Now let’s ask what month is the 51st month. If we count to 12 and keep going then Jan is 13, 25, etc., to 49, Feb is 50, and March is 51. Next, what day is March 44? Again, March 32 is April 1, 33 is April 2, and 44 is April 13. So Art Bell died on 51-44:

Jeremiah 51:44 “And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.”

The name “Bel” (Strong’s Hebrew #1078) is a shortened form of “Baal” (#1168), which as a common noun (#1167) that can be translated “owner, husband, lord,” or as a verb (#1166) “to marry”. This why Billy Graham’s wife and A. Graham Bell’s wife are key. Now Billy Graham’s birth in 1918 connects him to 1 Kings 19:18, but why is God reassuring Elijah about a Chosen Reserve in that verse? For that we go back one chapter, and then we can connect “Altar Call” Bill-Bel Graham with “Dreamland” Art Bell who was born on June 17, 1945, as the 18th month, 17th day:

1 Kings 18:17-18 “And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.”

In other words Elijah said: Thou Art Bel [-im]’s followers. Then comes Elijah’s altar call challenge. The prophets of Baal place their call first, but Bel is deaf, or off in dreamland:

1 Kings 18:26b-27 “… [they] called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar, which was made. And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.”

And then Elijah’s altar call to “Thou Art God”:

1 Kings 18:37-39: “Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.”
