From: Philip Sorensen,
The good news of the Bible is that God loves each one of us and has a wonderful plan for our lives. He wants us to have a life that is full of meaning, purpose, and hope of an eternal future with Him.
The apostle Peter says that God gives us everything that we need to live a life that pleases Him. He does this when we come to know Christ as our Lord and Savior.
In this relationship he shares with us His divine nature by giving us the Holy Spirit to live in us. The Holy Spirit assures us of God’s love and forgiveness and that we are now a part of His eternal family.
In Romans 5:3 we learn that part of God’s plan for us includes suffering. The Lord Jesus said that in this world we could expect hardship and trouble but that we should not be discouraged and lose hope because he has overcome these trials and testings and we can be overcomes through Him. The apostle Paul goes on to say that our sufferings produce endurance that in turn develops Christ-like character. It is interesting that the kind of person we are is more clearly seen by the things we endure than by the good things we experience. Hardships are not meant to make us bitter but to make us better. Through the hard times we can learn to trust God and in so doing we come to realize how dearly God loves us.'
Are you going through a rough time? Let me encourage you to give yourself fully to Him trusting Him to work out His plan for you.
