Matter of Faith: Venus Son

From: Bill Steidtmann

In previous articles I referred to Billy Graham’s death on February 21, 2018, as an “I hear you” death, because it occurred on the same day as the White House “listening session” to hear the concerns of the survivors of the Parkland school shooting (and others), in which President Trump held a note card with Point #5 being: “I hear you”. This double 2-21 event occurred spiritually because of Hosea 2:21.

Hosea 2:21 “And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;”

Since the 2-21 “listening session” was focused on an event seven days earlier we might ask: Why would God spiritually connect Billy Graham’s death to a Valentine’s Day tragedy? One answer is: Because Valentine’s Day is “Love Day,” and Billy Graham’s Decision Theology ministry, which began on September 13, 1947, on 9-13, fails to teach the sovereignty of God in this 9-13 “Love vs. hate” verse:

Romans 9:13 “As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”

Another answer is found in the story of how Jacob ended up being loved, that is to say chosen, or elected, even though Esau, by birthright, should have been loved but ended up “hated,” even though Esau’s father Isaac loved him and his “venison” the most:

Genesis 25:28, 27:1-5 “And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob … And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.”

Rebekah then instructs Jacob to dress up like Esau, and she cooks some fake “venison,” and Jacob pretends to be Esau:

Genesis 27:18-19 “And he came unto his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I; who art thou, my son? And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy first born; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.”

The deception worked and Isaac “accidentally” blesses Jacob instead of firstborn Esau, because God’s love of Jacob trumps Issac’s love of Esau and his venison. Billy Graham’s death connects to a “Love Day” tragedy because his 9-13 “Love vs. hate” Decision Theology is tragically false, and because “venison” sounds like “Venus son.”

From Wikipedia, Cupid, “In classical mythology, Cupid … is the god of desire, erotic love, attraction and affection. He is often portrayed as the son of the love goddess Venus … He is also known in Latin as Amor (‘love’).”
