The people have spoken

Enough is enough!

The election is over and the people have spoken. Joe Biden will become our 46th president of the United States. I ask all people to accept this outcome and come together once again as a nation.  According to the news and most rhetoric, Trump and his supporters will not accept defeat. According to most, they will take to the streets to demonstrate. We know that is their right as Americans, but only if they do it without violence. It would be in everyone’s best interest if they can convince their leader to accept defeat and work with our new president elect, Joe Biden. Trump can help with a smooth transition, offer advice, and settle his followers down.

Why am I writing this letter? Because we have never had so much division since the Civil War in 1861-1865. Can you remember four years ago? Do you remember that while we had disagreements on issues there was still unity within our red, white and blue states? I could say a lot about how this division happened, but I won’t because I believe it is time to stop the rhetoric and begin renewing as a nation.

Enough is enough; we all sat on pins and needles awaiting the outcome of this process. Now let’s sit on the cushion, relax and get together as a nation. As friends, neighbors and the decent people I know there are in this great land. The votes are in and have been counted. Please, for the sake of the country, of the sake of freedom, for the sake of unity!

God bless the United States!

“Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters,” Abraham Lincoln said.

United we stand. Divided we fall.
