I’ve written many times about saints, but what about angels? We all have a guardian angel that wants a relationship with us. I’ve read in many occasions they have come to help people in crises. I’ve also read moms are many times referred to as guardian angels — if you have the time to look up the short story “A Newborn’s Conversation with God,” it shows plainly and simply how mothers are their children’s “angels.”
“Angel of love, my guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here,
Be ever this day at my side,
To light, to guard, to rule and guide.”
– John Mason Neale
“Hail Guardian Angels of the House!
Come to our aid,
Share with us our work and play.
Be with us that we may hear your wings
And feel your breath upon our cheek.”
– Goeffrey Hodson
“O passing Angel,
Speed me with a song
A Melody of Heaven
To reach my heart
And rouse me to the race
And make me strong.”
– Christina Rossetti
Angels are spiritual beings who are constantly in God’s presence, singing praises to Him, our Creator. Angels serve as divine messengers, bringing God’s will and word to men and women. Angels serve as our appointed guardians, protecting and watching over us at God’s command.
