Rollingstone presents its 'choice' proposal, school open
year 'round
Central parents say they were rebuffed with choice proposal
In an elaborate presentation given to the District 861 School
Board last week, the site team from Rollingstone Elementary officially
announced that they would like Rollingstone Elementary to be
a choice school in the district. As members of the Rollingstone
committee made their pitch, however, parents representing Central
Elementary sat stunned, since they had inquired about the same
concept for their own school months earlier and had been immediately
refused consideration.

School board to decide criteria for closing schools
A committee of school board members met once again last week
to develop a list of criteria to be used in the event that District
861 decides to close a school in the future.
