a million dollars in grants were approved.

Appeal vote count goes to court

Area schools celebrating Charter
School Week
The four public charter schools located in the Winona-LaCrescent
area are coming together for the first time to celebrate National
Charter School Week, April 29th through May 3rd. The schools
participating in National Charter Schools Week include: Bluffview
Montessori, LaCrescent Montessori Public Academy, Ridgeway Community
School, and Riverway Learning Community. Work of the area charter
school's art and information about the schools will be on display
at the Winona Mall throughout the week. On Wednesday, May
1st from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. an information table, staffed
by representatives of the participating schools, will be set
up by the Mall display. In addition to the cooperative display
at the Winona Mall each school is planning special activities
of their own.

Many varieties of "Bugz"
filled the Lewiston Elementary School gymnasium Monday night
as music teacher Mr. Harper presented the spring musical. Above,
Kindergarten fireflies light up the stage. Below second, third
adn fourth graders buzz about after the show, displaying colorful
winged costumes made by parents.
