Ball proceeds to go to Cardiac rehab center at CMH
The 40th annual birthdat Ball, "Ruby Memories,"
follows the treadition of dedicating proceeds to Community Memorial
Hospital programs.
This years, the hospital's Cardiac rehabilitation Center
and Healthy Living Center will be recioients of the funds from
the Birthday Ball, an annual fundraiser produced by the Winona
Health auxillary.

Spirits were high last week after Mark Hauck, representing
a team organizing a new Shakespearean Festival, met with local
leaders regarding the possibility that the festival will call
Winona home.

Cardiac rehab center to recieve Birthday Ball funds
If your life has ever been changed by a heart condition, you
know how involved the recovery process can be. Along with follow
up appointments with doctors, nutritionists, and therapists for
the "inside you" there is still a new "physical
you" that needs to be nurtured back to health. The "Healthy
Living Center" at CMH offers an encouraging, secure place
to "fill the prescription" for the physical recovery
part of your recovery plan.

'Action group' vows to make things happen
Past the velvet-clad windows of the Grand Salon, a panoramic
view of Levee Park and the leisurely Mississippi offered inspiration
to a group of people on a mission. The mission, facilitated
by Theatre du Mississippi director Will Kitchen, was to crystallize
visions of a better downtown Winona onto paper and ultimately
into reality. "Today what we are going to do is talk about
downtown Winona. What we can do, what we have done, what we
should do," Kitchen told 30 area citizens, leaders and
business owners Wednesday at the Wilkie Steamboat Center.

September 10 deadline to file for Dist. 861 school board
As of 2 p.m. Friday, District 861 received four affidavits
of candidacy for the district's two at-large seats and one for
District 1.

Murphy-3 year old declawed, orange striped male. Murphy
is a big, big boy who is very protective of his "stuff".
He watches when his cage is cleaned to make sure you do it right!
He is a very dominant male and extremely independent.
Pepper 9 year old, declawed, male who will eventually
once again have long black hair. Very mild mannered, Pepper has
adjusted to all the other cats and all the people who are always
around. He is a complete sweet.
