at the Southeast corner of the intersections.
Kiwanis members are receiving assistance from Circle K and a
fraternity from Winona State University, area Boy Scouts, and
National Honor Society students from Winona Senior High School.
Donations, designated for "Christmas Tree Pickup,"
can be mailed to Sunrisers Kiwanis Club, PO Box 351, Winona,

Renovated courthouse opens Monday; work started on
former school buildings
The changing of the guard in the former west middle school
building is expected to be officially completed around Jan. 1,
when Winona County moves its last remaining items into the newly-remodeled
courthouse, and MetroPlains Development, owners of the east and
west buildings, move in and begin prepping for construction.

Workmen continued the move into the renovated County Courthouse
from temporary quarters at the former Winona Middle School. Court
will be held in the Courthouse beginning December 30, 2002, after
being forced out by water damage in September of 2002. (Photo
