A variety of subjects are presented, including many local landscapes, regionally inspired landscapes along with a small selection of expressionistic pieces. The event is free and open to the public.
Veraguth is a self-taught impressionist artist primarily focusing on Winona area landscapes. Emphasizing exaggerated colors, while creating striking contrast that evokes a mystery and moodiness that arouses emotion. Her works often feature a very limited color palette creating simplistic scenes that are most captivating.
She has previously been commissioned to illustrate two classic novels for an independent publishing company. As well as being published in a dark fantasy/horror book series titled “Dark Highlands Anthology.”
Her work has been shown extensively throughout Winona and beyond; in art galleries, business offices, coffee shops, among other venues including juried art exhibitions and art festivals. Her paintings are also held in many private collections.

6 Yarn Shops and one Sheep farm in Minnesota will host a Yarn Shop Hop June 15 – 16, 2012: YARNventure 2012
Hold onto your hats, handmade hats that is, YARNventure is here! The first annual YARNventure includes six yarn and fiber shops on both Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
YARNventure 2012 includes 6 Yarn and Fiber Shops in Minnesota. From Northfield to Winona with stops in Cannon Falls, Zumbrota, and Rochester; these shops have joined together to plan and host the event. Each location will offer their own specials, that may include discounts, daily prize giveaways, demos, public knit alongs, guest artists, trunk shows and swag bags.
Get a stamp at each location and be entered into the Grand Prize drawing (valued at over $1000). Yarn and Fiber enthusiasts will need a YARNventure 2012 punch card and can obtain abbreviated maps, available from all participating stores and the full brochure with each stops specials and events are available online to download or print out.
Prizes range from a swag bag from each store to a several prizes valued over $250 donated from companies including Cascade, Berroco, Plymouth, Elemental Affect, Lantern Moon, Della Q, Misti, Alpaca, Interweave and more. To become eligible for grand prizes, customers must visit all 6 participating stops and have their card stamped. 11:00 am Summer Concert in the Park The Teddy Bear Band will perform at the Summer Concert in the Park, sponsored by Winona National Bank, at the Lake Park Bandshell following the Steamboat Days Kiddie Parade. Starting at 11:00 a.m., Winona National will serve its famous $1 lunch, which includes a hot dog, bag of chips, and a drink. Lake View root beer floats will also be available at the concert for $1 each. All proceeds from food sales will benefit the Friends of the Winona Public Library. Lunch orders of eight or more can be pre-ordered and picked-up at the “Group Lunch Pick-up Area,” avoiding the general public line. Pre-orders must be placed by Wednesday, June 13, by calling 454-8800. There will also be free temporary tattoos and balloons for kids to enjoy at the concert, while supplies last!
