9:00 am YARNventure 2014: A SE MN Yarn Shop Hop
It's almost that time once again! 5 Yarn Shops in SE Minnesota will host a Yarn Shop Hop June 27 & 28, 2014: YARNventure 2014 "YARNventure 2014" Challenges Southeastern Minnesota yarn and fiber enthusiasts to a two day shop hop! Hold onto your hats, handmade hats that is, YARNventure is here! The third annual YARNventure includes five yarn and fiber shops on both Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28 from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM. YARNventure 2014 includes 5 Yarn and Fiber Shops in Minnesota. From Northfield to Winona with stops in Cannon Falls, Zumbrota, and Rochester; these 5 shops have joined together to plan and host the event. Each location will offer their own specials, that may include discounts, daily prize giveaways, demos, public knit alongs, guest artists, trunk shows and goodie bags to the first 50 customers with a punch card each day. Get your card punched at each location and be entered into the Grand Prize drawing (valued at over $900). Yarn and Fiber enthusiasts will need a YARNventure 2014 punch card and can obtain abbreviated maps, available online to download or print out. Prizes are still arriving for 2014. First and Second prizes are valued over $200 and Third and Fourth Prizes are valued at at least $150. The prizes are donated from companies including Cascade, Malabrigo, Misti, Elemental Affects, Della Q, Interweave, Westminster, Frog Tree, RYN, Classic Elite, and more. To become eligible for the 5 large prize drawings, customers must visit all 5 participating stops and have their card punched. 11:00 am Barb Marg Benefit Fundraiser Block Party
Join us for a day of live bands, chicken-Q, bean bag tournament, raffles, kids activities and a silent auction. Barb has a rare lung disease and is currently on a list for a double lung transplant. All money raised will help with the family's medical bills and expenses. Join us at Market Street Tap, Winona

1:00 pm Burial of Ashes
Interment of Anne Conrad ashes at St. Mary Cemetery, Winona, Minnesota - many family members coming from out of town and out of state to bury ashes in Max and Betty Conrad gravesite/plot "Conrad" plot. There will be "Remembering and Celebrating Memories of Anne, #10 child and 7th daughter of Max and Betty" with songs and stories and flute music and a Chaplet of Divine Mercy at the "Hour of Mercy" - 3 p.m. We think there will be old friends and relatives in the Winona area who read your paper and will want to come and join us as it has been manly, many years since we have been together, seen one another, shared our lives. 4:00 pm Summer Block Party
Summer Block Party A Family-Friendly Outdoor Concert Sunday, July 6th @ 4-6pm 2nd and Lafayette St. (Outside the Acoustic Cafe) ALL families in the Winona area are invited to a summer block party hosted by Living Light Church and the Acoustic Cafe. The event will include live music, kidís games, face painting, cotton candy, popcorn, and giveaway prizes. This is a free event. Bring your family downtown for an afternoon of summer fun! Musical guests: Patmos (from New York), Joey and the Brightness (Winona native Joey Bures), and Gayle Nottleman and Friends.

Gain an appreciation and concern for our natural environment while exploring outdoor activities. Learn new skills, meet new people and get outside! Activities include geocaching, rock climbing, canoeing and kayaking, as well as high & low ropes course initiatives and elements. All activities follow the challenge by choice philosophy and are facilitated by nationally certified instructors. Step out of your comfort zone and join others in four weeks of new adventures in the Mississippi River Valley! **Times will vary depending on activity**

This course will explore the complexity of causes, stages, and consequences of growing U.S. involvement in and subsequent disengagement from the Southeast Asian conflict. Although this is not a specialized military history course, it will outline major military objectives, strategies, and tactics of the struggling powers.
