Calling all Hep Cats & Kittens (ladies and gents who like to SWING DANCE)! Slap on your ground-grippers (shoes) and join Molly & Stan Breitlow for a great evening of rug cutting (dancing) at the Levee. First is a Lindy Hop lesson followed by lively socialization and some tasty grub. Whether you’re a dead hoofer (poor dancer) or a ducky shincracker (good dancer), you’re soiten (certain) to have a swell (good) time. Bringing partners to dance with and snacks to share are optional; all ages welcome. In case of rain, meet at the Winona Athletic Club on Mankato Avenue. 8:00 pm Performance of Play about Air Force Drone Pilot
Winona State University’s Arts Administration Program will present a staged reading of GROUNDED performed by Carla Noack on Saturday, Sep 20 at 8:00 pm in the WSU Performing Arts Center’s Recital Hall. GROUNDED is a one-woman play about a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot in Afghanistan who, due to an unexpected pregnancy, is assigned to flying drones from over 7,500 miles away at a base in Nevada. Please note that this play contains mature content and language. The performance is free. Carla Noack was a member of the Great River Shakespeare Festival for five years and for ten years and was a co-artistic director of the Commonweal Theatre Company in Lanesboro. Currently, Ms. Noack teaches acting in the MFA program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. For more information, contact Greg Neidhart at gneidhart@winona.edu

The Rabbit Hole is the heartbreaking story of Becca and Howie, a couple trying to recover from the accidental death of their four-year-old son, Danny, eight months earlier. Danny was killed when he chased the family dog into the street and was hit by a car; Becca was answering the phone and had turned away from him briefly. Becca’s mother, Nat, and her younger sister, Izzy, try in their own ways to comfort the family. When Izzy, always the family troublemaker, announces that she is pregnant, Becca and Howie must come to terms with the new life in the family while dealing with their grief.
