NOTICE OF HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:
The following applications have been made for variations from the requirements of the Winona City Code, as listed below:
a. Cathedral Of The Sacred Heart - for variance of Section 43.36, which requires a minimum of 82 parking spaces when the total pew length is divided by 20 inches per person. The church is remodeling and adding an addition and will only have 64 off-street parking spaces. Property described as R-2, Lots 1 Thru 9 Blk 127 & Vac Alley Lot 7 Also In Sanborn Add O P Winona, or at 360 Main Street.
Notice is sent to the applicants and to the owners of the property affected by the application.
A hearing on these petitions will be given in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Winona, Minnesota at 5:00 p.m. on October 5, 2005 at which time interested persons may appear either in person, in writing, or by agent, and present any reasons which they may have to the granting or denying of these petitions. Any questions regarding the petitioner's request can be directed to the Community Development Department; Inspections Division at 457-8231.

On Monday, October 10, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, the Winona City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider an amendment to City Code Chapter 43.49. Corner lots play a vital role in transportation safety. Currently, the corner lot visibility standards are vague. The Planning Commission will consider language that creates more specific corner lot standards.

SUBJECT: Amendment to City Code -Sidewalk Signs
On Monday, October 10, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, the Winona City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider an amendment to City Code Chapter 43.43. Due to the Zoning Code's current lack of allowance of temporary sidewalk signs, the Planning Commission will consider language that defines, allows, and regulates sidewalk signs.

SUBJECT: Amendment to City Code -Temporary Swimming Pools
On Monday, October 10, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, the Winona City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider an amendment to City Code Chapter 43.53. Currently, temporary swimming pools are treated like permanent pools. Â The Planning Commission will consider language that will separate the two, relaxing the regulations on temporary pools. Â As part of this code change, the Commission will consider changing the threshold for a pool from 18+ inches to 24+ inches.

SUBJECT: Preliminary Plat - Proposed Technology Park Subdivision
On Monday, October 10, 2005 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, the Winona City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider a preliminary plat for the proposed Technology Park Subdivision. Submitted by the Winona Port Authority, the area to be platted is located easterly of Louisa Street, westerly and northerly of the Winona Flood Control Dike and southerly of County Ditch Number 4. As proposed, the preliminary plat would serve to subdivide an approximate 43.1 acre parcel into a total of fourteen lots (for future development purposes) and one Outlot (for storm drainage detention). Proposed public dedications will include approximately 3250 linear feet of street right-of-way (Frontenac Drive and Innovation Drive) and required utility/drainage easements.

Currently, this section of the City Code is written in a fashion that allows for misinterpretation of the rule's spirit. The Planning Commission will consider language that is more in lines with the spirit of the rule.
