The Second Annual City vs County Challenge was a bowling challenge held Oct. 1 at Winona Bowl, 2 p.m., 9 pin no tap event.
The Traveling Challenge Trophy was won by the City. Scores were City-7614, County-7327
The Traveling Food Trophy was won by the County. The fund-raiser was for the Winona Humane Society, $103.25 was raised along with 2 large garage bags full of supply items.
The City had 12 participants and County 30.
Individual winners for the City were:
Don Dennis-Men's High Series; Jayne Meier-Women's High Series; Debbie White-Women's Low Game; Eric Engrave-Men's Low Game
County's individual winners were:
Men's High Series w/ handicap: Mark Anderson 726
Women's High Series w/handicap: Jacki Zaborowski 686
Men's Low Game: Kevin O'Laughlin 75
Women's Low Game: Carol Spande 52
Women's High Game w/handicap: Rita Wheeler 267
Men's High Game w/handicap: Mark Anderson 285
Event organizers were for the City, Kelli Bartsch, Secretary Rec. Dept and Tod Walters, Sewer Dept. and for the County Kim Nelson and Jaci Zaborowski.
The annual fund-raiser helps the city and county employees get to know each other better.
