ADULT CO. REC. VOLLEYBALL RULE OF THE WEEK

During our league playoffs: only individuals listed on your league roster will be allowed to participate. Penalty: Automatic forfeit of that match.

ADULT MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL MANDATORY ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING

The registration deadline for adult Men's & Women's basketball leagues has passed. We have extended the Women's registration but did not get enough teams to continue our women's league-we'll try again next year. Registered teams please remember to attend the mandatory organizational meeting. The Men's Basketball meeting will be held Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Lodge. This is a mandatory meeting and if the manager of the team is unable to attend then please send a representative from your team. (If there is a "life or death" reason for you the manager or a representative not attending, please call us.) If you have any questions, please call the Park Rec. office at 457-8258.

ADULT PARK RECREATION LEAGUE BASKEBALL OFFICIALS MEETING

There will be an Park Rec. Adult Basketball Officials meeting, Thursday, November 20, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Lake Lodge, following the team manager's meeting. All hired Park Rec. officials including substitute officials must attend. If there is a "life or death" reason for you not attending, please call the Park Rec. office at 457-8258. Reminder: you must be a certified official either through Minnesota (MSHSL) or Wisconsin (WIAA) or both and have attended one of either state's rule interpretation meetings.

PARK RECREATION 2003 - 04 WINTER BROCHURE

Distribution for the Winter brochure was October 25, 2003. If you do not receive a copy, you may pick one up in the Winona Park Recreation Office in City Hall. This brochure has all of the information regarding our Winter programs. Please use the brochure throughout the winter as a reference.

YOUTH WRESTLING

The Winona Mat Club Wrestling program and the Winona Park Rec. Department have combined their programs. This program is offered to all those interested in developing their wrestling skills. The program is for youth Grades K-6. This program will run from December 2 to February 12th, 2004. Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. will be for Grades K-3 and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m. will be for Grades 3-6. Registration starts on November 6th and ends on November 25th, 2003. Register at the Park Recreation office, cost is $17 for residents of Winona and $27 for Non-Residents.

LIFEGUARD TRAINING COURSE

The Winona Park Recreation office is offering a lifeguard training course on March 11-14, 2004. For more information, please contact the Park Rec. office at 457-8258.

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The Winona Park Recreation office is offering a water safety instructor course on April 15-18, 2004. For more information, please contact the Park Rec. office at 457-8258.

SEMI-PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS

The Winona Park Recreation office is offering winter semi-private swim lessons, November through April 2004, Monday & Wednesday evenings for 2 weeks. All levels are offered, infant through level seven. Call the Park Rec. office at 457-8258 for more information.

TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT-FREE!

Recreational and competitive brackets. Held at the East Rec. Center.

November 8th-Register at the East Rec. or the Park Recreation office. Tournament starts at 9 a.m.

Creative problem solving & decision-making: Dec. 2 - 18.

ACTIVITIES CANCELLATION NUMBER-457-8220

For your convenience, the Winona Park Recreation Department has a cancellation number that you can call in case of bad weather, call 457-8220. If you feel a game, practice or special event might be cancelled; you may call this number. Listen carefully and follow the directions given on the recording. If there is no recording or an outdated recording, it means that there are NO CANCELLATIONS at that time. Cancellations will also be made on the radio stations. Please use this service instead of calling our office number.

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS

If you have lost any items, such as keys, softball gloves jackets, etc. During our programs or when using our facilities, we may have them in our lost and found box at the Park Rec. office, City Hall. Please stop in to identify the items.

CITY HALL OFFICE HOURS

All City Hall offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

ACTIVE WELLNESS CENTER

Do you want stronger arms for better hugs? Or do you want to age on your own terms, then come to the new Active Wellness Center at the Senior Friendship Center. Memberships available for persons 55 and over. Stop in the Park Recreation Department in City Hall, to purchase your membership or call the Winona Senior Friendship Center at 454-5212 for more information on our Active Wellness Center.
