Seventy people gathered at the Waumandee House on Thursday, November 10, to conduct the annual meeting of the Democratic Party of Buffalo County. Elected officials attending included Sheriff Bernie Brunkow, District Attorney Tom Clark, and County Clerk Roxann Halverson.
Linda Chappetto, the Political Director of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin was the guest speaker of the evening. Jan Kochenderfer and Betty Rosenow were honored by the group for their years of service to the Party. Former Chair Bob Miller presented "Lifetime Appreciation Awards" to Mrs. Kochenderfer and Mrs. Rosenow and described the years of service these women dedicated to bettering the community. Also recognized for her service was Joyce Hubbard. Mrs. Hubbard was presented with the "Golden Spatula Award" for her outstanding service in 2005. She was ill and unable to attend the festivities.
Elections for officers were held. The results of the elections are as follows; Kathleen Vinehout, Chair; Brach Seitz, Vice Chair; Barb Klink, Secretary and Bob Miller, Treasurer. The meeting concluded with a theatrical skit by talented activists Martha and Frank Kuhlman. The next meeting is scheduled for January 21 at 9:30 AM at the Alma office.
