Friday, November 21

"¢At 11:11 a.m. Buckley Merchlewitz reported that his vehicle parked in the area of Park Avenue was entered and items were missing. The jeep had a soft top and was unzipped. There appeared to be no damage to the vehicle. Items missing were: one Meucci pool cue worth $600, the bottom of a Cuetec pool cue worth $200, a pool cue case worth $75, 2 speakers worth $140 each, back speaker worth $200, an amplifier worth $280 and shot gun and rifle shells with an unknown value.

Sunday, November 23

"¢At 11:23 p.m. Dean Morgan reported that his vehicle parked in an alley behind his residence on East 4th Street was broken into. Entry was gained through a broken passenger side window. The face plate of his Alpine stereo was missing. The stereo's value is $300.

"¢At 12:10 a.m. Libby Schmeisser, Lake Mills, Wis., reported that her purse containing a wallet with $50, car keys and a gas credit card were missing after she attended a party.

"¢Rachel Boyum, Utica, reported her Bush Hog chisel plow missing from one of her farms on County Road 114. The plow is valued at $400 and is thought to have been taken sometime in the last month.

Monday, November 24

"¢Harlan Enright reported that 30 checks on his closed checking account were stolen and that 15 of the checks had been written out. Twelve checks were written to Kwik Trip, two to Freedom and one to Conoco. The amount varied from $12-$113.

Saturday, November 22

"¢At 3:34 a.m. a deputy spotted a vehicle traveling north on Highway 61 at speeds up to 20 miles over the speed limit. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle using squad lights and sirens. The vehicle increased its speed and turned off onto County Road 15 then onto old Homer Road. Near the Bunnell House on Highway 61 the driver lost control of the vehicle, fish tailed, traveled up an embankment, flew 25 feet into the air, rolled and skidded to a stop on pavement on the driver's door. The deputy approached the vehicle and found one occupant. Shannon Eide, 19, Peterson, Minn., was transported to Community Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

"¢A 8:46 p.m. Aaron Lafee, 26, Minnesota City, was cited for 3rd degree DWI and failure to dim headlights.

"¢At 9:41 p.m. Clint Davis, 26, Winona, was cited for 3rd degree DWI, open bottle and over the center line.

Monday, November 29

"¢At 12:54 p.m. officers responded to an accident at West 5th Street and South Baker. Michael Lackey, 22, Winona, was traveling west on 5th Street. He didn't see a west bound vehicle stopped in traffic to make a left turn and rear ended the vehicle. The vehicle driven by Vicki Christensen, 36, Winona, was propelled 25 feet on impact. Christensen was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Lackey was cited for basic speed and inattentive driving.
