"The ABC’s of Business Ownership" workshop offered (02/06/2006)
Western Dairyland Business Center and the Women's Business Center will host a 3-session "The ABC's of Business Ownership" February 10th, 8:30am - 12:00pm, February 17th and February 24th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, at Western Dairyland, 418 Wisconsin Street in Eau Claire. This 3-session workshop is designed to help participants learn about starting a business through developing the pieces of a business plan. There is a small fee of $30 to cover cost of materials. Scholarships are available for those whose income qualifies. Space is limited, so please register by February 9th. For more information or to register, please call (715) 836-7511 ext 171.

The 3-session workshop allows the participants to work on their specific business idea. Some of the topics covered in the first session, Are you Ready?, include: legal structure, permits/licensing/zoning, business plan outline, and business idea feasibility. Some of the topics covered in the second session, Business Marketing, includes: who is your customer, marketing research, and how to market to your customer. Some of the topics covered in the third session, Cash Management, include: profit and loss statements, recordkeeping, and methods of financing.

After attending the business plan workshop, attendees may apply for one-on-one assistance with Western Dairyland's Business Development Specialists to develop and write their business plans.

Western Dairyland Community Action Agency is a non-profit community action agency serving Buffalo, Eau Claire, Jackson, and Trempealeau Counties. The agency was established in 1966 for the purpose of alleviating poverty-related conditions and helping low-income families achieve self-reliance.
