Because of recent news of federal and state investigations into "predatory lenders", and increased complaints by consumers having unsatisfactory mortgage transactions, Coldwell Bankers Skeels/Moore & Associates and Merchants Bank are presenting a free seminar entitled "Avoiding the Pitfalls of Home Financing".
Aimed primarily towards first-time buyers, but open to anyone, the seminar will address such topics as lender fraud, extra fees, and prepayment penalties. It is being presented so homebuyers will have information that will help them through the buying process without becoming prey for opportunistic or disreputable lenders.
The seminar will be held at Coldwell Banker's office, 104 E 4th St, on Tuesday, February 28th. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. and last approximately one hour. Child care will be provided.
