‘Prelude to Spring’ Orchestra Tea (02/23/2006)

Question: What is a sure sign that spring is on the way?

Answer: The Tenth "Prelude to Spring" Orchestra Tea, which will be presented by Strings in Motion on Sunday, March 5.

Strings in Motion, which supports the work of the Winona School Orchestras, provides the opportunity for musicians in the WSHS and WMS Orchestras to perform in small ensembles in a lovely and relaxed chamber music environment, an opportunity they do not otherwise have. Trios, quartets, and other chamber groups will provide music to accompany the elegant tea treats for which the orchestra tea is known. In the Fireside Room of the First Congregational Church, flowers, beautiful music and lovely food will combine for a very special Sunday afternoon. The 10-12 grade Orchestra and the Winona Fiddlers will also perform at both seatings.

Tickets are now available at Hardt's Music for the 1:30 and 3:30 seatings of the Tea; cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger. Tickets are limited and advance purchase is necessary.

For more information contact Arlene R.K. Compton, Strings in Motion, 452-8227
