The Univaersity of Minnesota, Winona County Extension Service and Master Gardeners are planning the 6th Annual Gardeners' Day in cooperation with Winona ISD 861 Community Education.
Gardeners' Day will take place Saturday, March 25, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Winona Middle School, 1570 Homer Road, Winona. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. and the rest of the day is as follows.
8:30 a.m. - A Look at Function with Christine Florin of Christine's Landscape Design.
9:30 a.m. - Designing with Ornamental Grasses and Perennials, Gardens of the new Minnesota Art Museum with Mark Swart of Sundance Grasses and Perennials and Sundance Designs
10:30 a.m. - Keynote Address, "With An English Influence," Martin Stern, co-owner of Squire House Gardens.
12:00 noon - lunch, visiting vendors
1:00 p.m. - Water and the Home Garden with Vic Ormsby, Supervisor of the Winona County Soil and Water District.
2:00 p.m. - Beyond Apples, Growing Fruit in Minnesota with Harry Hoch, owner of Hoch Orchards.
There will be time between speakers for questions and to visit vendors.
