Riverway Learning Community, a tuition-free Minnesota public charter school located at 115 Iowa Street in Minnesota City, will hold enrollment open houses at the school on Saturday, March 4, at 10:00 a.m. and Monday evening, March 6, at 7:00. All families interested in pursuing registration are welcome to attend.
Serving students pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, Riverway Learning Community provides all students the opportunity to become independent self-motivated learners by offering small, multi-age classrooms (15:1 student-teacher ratio), developing individual learning plans for all students, and featuring an integrated, thematic, project-based curriculum. Riverway offers a Montessori learning environment for 3-6-year-olds, including all-day, everyday kindergarten. Riverway provides special education services to students with special needs. Comprehensive parent involvement and use of the community as a classroom enrich the Riverway learning experience. Breakfast and hot lunch are served daily, and transportation is provided to students within the district.
Prior to receiving a registration packet, both parents are expected to attend an enrollment open house. Enrollment packets will be available at the conclusion of the open house. Open enrollment for the 2006-2007 school year will close on Friday, March 17, at 4:00 p.m. With enrollment limited to 100 students, should applications for enrollment exceed available openings, a lottery will be held for students who applied before the deadline.
