Semcac, a Community Action Agency, administers the Fix-up Fund Loan Program to homeowners in Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Steele, Mower, Winona and Olmsted Counties. These below market fixed annual interest rate loans are made available through the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA). Households earning less than $89,000 are eligible to apply.
Homeowners can finance the cost of basic improvements such as:
A room addition or new garage
Furnace/air conditioning installation
Roof replacement
New paint job or siding
Upgrade or replace electrical wiring
Septic System repairs or plumbing/ well
Energy conservation including replacing windows and doors
Insulate walls or attics
Accessibility improvements
