A Hands-On Horse Driver Training Clinic, sponsored by the SE MN Trail Riders ‘n' Teamsters Association, will be held on Saturday, April 8th, 2006 at Miller's Harness Shop/Triple M Horse Training outside of Utica, Minnesota.
This clinic will be limited to 10 rigs (carts and wagons), pre-registration required by April 1. The presenter, Menno Miller, will be covering proper harnessing and hitching techniques and giving suggestions to drivers specific to their abilities, animals and rigs. There will be a "safety first" rig and harness check, performance driving course, and a 3 mile wagon train on gravel roads. A map will be provided of the horse businesses located in the Winona County Amish Community for participants to visit after the clinic.
Individuals who do not currently own a driving animal may participate for a $25 attendance fee. An opportunity to drive a well broke horse with an experienced driver beside you teaching you how to handle the horse and rig will be provided for an extra fee. For safety purposes, no children or spectators will be allowed.
