Saint Mary's Parish in Winona is working with Elder Network and Winona Area Hospice to provide two Saturday morning workshops for elders, family members and care givers. The sessions are scheduled for Saturday, March 11 and 25 from 9:00-11:00 am in the Visitation Commons. These sessions are open to all interested adults, and will be especially helpful for those who may need services to maintain their health and independence.
Session 1 on March 11: "What Can We Do to Get Ready? Estate Planning and Advance Directives." Attorney Michael Bernatz will discuss estate planning and various planning options. An overview of Advance Directives will be provided.
Session 2 on March 25: "What Do We Do Now? Care Giving Roles and Resources." This session will focus on practical tips and contact information about resources to use in your own home, family issues, and self-care for care givers. The second hour will feature a panel of care providers from the community, including representatives from St. Anne's, Alterra Sterling, Bourne Medical, Winona Health Watkins Manor, Public Health and Sauer Home.
To register, please call St. Mary's Parish at 452-5656. Pre-registration helps with planning for materials and refreshments, but is not required.
