On Friday, February 17, 2006, the following wrestlers from the Winona Area Youth Wrestling Club competed in the Dover/Eyota youth wrestling tournament, which was held in Eyota, Mn. These wrestlers recieved the following awards:
Preschool/Pre-K: Summer Nelson, 2nd place
1st Grade: Mason Henke, 1st place
2nd Grade: Collin Schultz, 1st place; Derrick Erickson, 1st place; Christopher Wisted, 2nd place; Carl Rackow, 2nd place; Tristan Penic, 2nd place; Dillon Kreidermacher, 2nd place
3rd Grade: Steven Nelson, 1st place; Jacob Timm, 1st place; Jordan Johnson, 2nd place; Adrianna Racko, 3rd place; Cody Perry, 3rd place; Jesse Cisewski, 3rd place
5th Grade: Jordan Kaehler, 1st place; Ryan Schultz, 2nd place
6th Grade: Jacob Cisewski, 2nd place
On Saturday, February 18, 2006 the Dover/Eyota wrestling club held a youth team tournament and W.A.Y.W.C. sent a team to compete at this tournament. Winona placed 4th out of 5 teams that were present! Also on February 18 were two other youth tournaments held in the area. They were in Galesville, Wi. and in Holmen,Wi. Both of these tournaments had at least one wrestler from W.A.Y.W.C. competing in them. These wrestlers recieved the following awards:
Galesville Tournament
Kindergarten: Anakin Hazelton, 4th place
4th Grade: Cody Perry, 4th place
Holmen Tournament
2nd Grade: Christopher Wisted, 2nd place
On Sunday, February 26, 2006 the Houston wrestling club hosted a youth team tournament. W.A.Y.W.C. sent a team of wrestlers to compete in this tournament. Winona ended up placing 2nd out of three teams that were present!
