  (ARCHIVES)Back to Current
Fatima (04/02/2006)
From: John Schreiber

Once again this is excerpted from the Rev. Robert J. Fox book "Rediscovering Fatima".

These are some the the last words on Fatima from Sister Lucia and Father Alonso who next to Sister Lucia was until his death (Sept. 21, 1981) the foremost living authority on Fatima.

What Sister Lucia has always put forward as of most importance is the intercessory power of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which she calls the "sign of salvation in the latter times", Father Alonso observed: what is always asserted is that if this power intercession os not put forward in the church as it should be, the church will find herself exposed to most serious perils, that will affect her very dogmas, the chance of this to happen (intercessory power of Mary) are very slim because of the second Vatican council of 1962-65, this is taken from the cover story of "Time Magazine". "The search for Mary", (Dec. 30, 1991) "clerics have downplayed the role of Mary, the effects of that downplaying have rippled through the observances of the church to the point that Mary's statues have been removed from some sanctuaries and catholic parishes have gradually reduced the traditional novena devotions to the Virgin Mary".

Isn't it every clear now that the reasons why the church has not promoted, but hidden Our Lady's Fatima message since the 1960s because of Pope John XXIII policy of "optimism at all costs" and the second Vatican council downplaying of Mary's role in the church? There should be no doubt why the church has been darkened and now faces it's greatest trial, unless the Holy Mother of God, Queen of heaven and earth is not once again placed upon her throne in the catholic church as she was prior to 1960, the church will continue to be exposed to most serious perils as Father Alonso warned. Perhaps it's time for today's modern catholic church to heed the words of the late Pope St. Gregory the Great, "It is better that scandals arise than the truth be suppressed."
