The Alliance for Youth Foundation golf tourney set for June 5 (04/26/2006)
The Alliance for Youth Foundation (ALLY) announces the foundation's 14th Annual Golf Tournament to be held Monday, June 5, at Cedar Valley Golf Course. The golf tournament is the annual fundraiser for the foundation. ALLY is a local organization that financially supports programs that help children avoid the pitfalls of alcohol, drug and chemical substance abuse.

Sue Anderson, ALLY golf chairperson, is hoping golfers will take advantage of the new foursome price break. "The individual golfing entry fee is $75, but we have packaged a foursome at $260, for a savings of $40. The price is more affordable, so we hope to have more foursomes signed up before the June 1 entry deadline. Plus, our goal is still to make this a great day of golf and fundraising for ALLY. We hope many golfers will come out to play and support the ALLY mission."

The shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. At noon there will be a grilled lunch for players to enjoy. The tourney is followed by appetizers in the clubhouse and the awarding of prizes. The 1st, 5th, and 10th place teams will be awarded prizes, and there will be many door prizes.

The golf tournament is an 18-hole scramble. There are two hole-in-one opportunities. One is for a new car, sponsored by Walz Buick, Chrysler Winona, and Sugar Loaf Ford. The other is a plasma TV sponsored by Audio Designs. Use of a motor cart, lunch at Cedar Valley Golf Course, and a golf gift are included in the entry fee. To register, golfers may call Sue Anderson at 474-1451 or Rod at Cedar Valley Golf Course at 457-3129. The entry deadline is June 1.

Sponsorships for the tournament are available at all levels. Tournament sponsorships of $1000 include entry for a foursome. Exclusive hole sponsorships at $500 include entry for two golfers, and hole cosponsorships at $250 include entry for one golfer. These levels of sponsorship also include signage at the tournament. A $100 patron sponsorship includes lunch at the tournament and acknowledgment in the printed program. Any donations to ALLY are appreciated and may be mailed to ALLY, P.O. Box 571, Winona, MN 55987.

For more information about sponsorship contact Sue Anderson at 474-1451 or e-mail her at sanjane@hbci.com.
