ADULT TOUCH FOOTBALL (SEVEN PERSON) REGISTRATION NOW OPEN UNTIL AUGUST 21, 2006
Fall is closing in fast and letters have been sent out regarding our adult touch football league to all previous year's adult men's managers. If you were a previous manager and have not received the information or are a new manager interested in putting a team in our league, stop in at the Winona Park & Recreation office in City Hall or call us at 457-8258 and we will give you or send you the information. We are always looking for more teams. (Note: The deadline for accepting registration for adult touch football is Monday, August 21, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. Special Note: The team's total fee is $270.00 (one night a week) and the preliminary roster are due at the time of registration.) If you miss the deadline and your registration is accepted, you will be responsible for a $50 late registration fee. Don't wait until the last minute to register or you may be too late to get in and your teammates may not be too happy with you. We anticipate playing Tuesday OR Thursday evenings starting after Labor Day through mid-late October.
MSF-STATE AND DISTRICT SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT TEAMS
All teams that submitted their tournament entry fees for state and district tournaments have received berths. As soon as the MSF-ASA sends me the tournament information and pairings, the manager of your team will be called to pick up your pairing packet containing a copy of your official roster, which is then hand-delivered to the tournament director prior to playing your first game on the day of the tournament. I would suggest that if you have not made motel reservations that you do so now and not wait until you receive your pairing packet. Usually by that time the motels are booked solid. (If you need a list of motels, check with our office, and I may have a listing for out of town motels from previous years.) Special Note: The tournament pairings will not be sent to our office until one or two weeks before your specific tournament.
ADULT SOFTBALL RULE OF THE WEEK-LOCAL
Reminder: There is a time limit during all league play when there is another game following yours. Note: (1) During playoff games ONLY, there are no time limits.
The full seven innings will be played during playoff games unless there is a tie after seven innings; we play until the tie is broken regardless of the number of extra innings. (The twelve (12) run and twenty (20) run rule will be used during playoffs. (2) During playoffs, a coin flip determines the home team.
VALLEYFAIR AMUSEMENT PARK TRIP
This bus trip to Valleyfair is open to all ages, children under 7 years old and/or under 48 inches will need to bring an adult with. This trip is on Saturday, August 26, bus departs at 8 a.m. at the East Rec. Center and will return approximately around 8:30 p.m. Fee is $26 resident and $36 non-resident, register at the Park & Rec. Office at City Hall.
ADULT KICKBALL LEAGUE
Co. Rec. Kickball League registration starts July 5 through August 4, 2006. All 2005 managers were sent the information, if you are no longer serving as the team manager, pass the packet on to the appropriate individual. Registration fee is $125, registration form and full fee needs to be turned in by deadline to get your team in. Any later registrations if accepted after the August 4th deadline, a late fee of $50 will be assessed. Games will be played Sunday late afternoon/evening. Call the Park & Rec. KICKBALL FOR KIDS
No need to find a sitter or skip Kickball because of the kids while you play in the Adult kickball league. Park & Recreation supervisors will be stationed at field one with games and activities. There is no charge for the youth program. Drop off your child(ren) prior to your game and pick them up when you are finished. Kickball kids must be at least 3 years of age. Activities will include games, crafts, and of course some kickball.
ADULT CO. REC. VOLLEYBALL
Co. Rec. Volleyball season approaching. Registration starts July 5 through July 28, 2006. PART-TIME FALL JOB APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE
Applications are available at the Recreation Office in City Hall, for fall employment. All these positions will give you valuable experience in the Recreation field. The minimum age for employment is 16. All applications are due August 1, 2006.

YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL
This program will provide young players the understanding and skills of the game. Players will learn the positions, plays, and team strategies. The program will work at developing self-esteaam and confidence in a safe and fun environment. As always, in Park & Rec. programs, good sportsmanship and fun are at the core of the program. Grades 1-2 will be on Wednesdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. & Saturdays, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Grades 3-4 will be on Tuesdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. & Saturdays, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Watch for more registration information in our Fall/Winter brochure coming out in Mid August.
RECREATION CENTER HOURS
The East Rec. Center new hours are September to May 31, 2006 will be Monday through Fridays, 3-9 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday from 1-9 p.m. The West Rec. Center new hours are September to May 31, 2006, 6-9 p.m. and Saturday & Sundays from 1-9 p.m.
