A two-and-a-half-year-old boy was seriously injured Thursday after being run over by a car just before noon.
Police said Sebastian Sylvan Pick, 2, of Winona, was struck by a car driven by Janice Marie Nascak, 55, of Winona, in the parking lot of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Nascak said that she couldn't see the small boy when she tried backing out of a parking stall.
Police said that Nascak began backing out when she struck the boy, and stopped with her rear right tire on top of the boy's chest. Witnesses signaled to the woman to pull forward, police said.
Sebastian was transported by ambulance to Community Memorial Hospital, and then airlifted to a Rochester hospital. His condition was unknown when the Post went to print on Friday afternoon.
