Snowmobile safety training for youth certification will be held at the Wilson Fire Hall, Thursday, November 30, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; Thursday, December 7, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; Thursday, December 14, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; and a field day Saturday, December 16, 9:00-11:30 a.m. Cost is $5 and will be collected by the instructor. Checks must be payable to the Department of Natural Resources.
Youth ages 11-17 are eligible to complete the course. Certification becomes valid at age 12. All youth must attend and pass a youth snowmobile safety certification class.
The 12-hour course is designed for the snowmobile rider with little or no experience in snowmobile operation. The course includes a hands-on operating field day.
