In April 1996 my husband and I were sitting in the Minneapolis airport waiting to leave on vacation. For some reason, planes were having problems staying on schedule and the area was very crowded. I was reading in a newspaper about famous people visiting Minneapolis, when I looked up to see the face on the front page walking toward us. He verified his ticket, then went and sat on the floor against a wall with his female companion. Never having done anything like it before, I don't know from where I drew the courage but I took the newspaper, knelt in front of him and asked for his autograph please. He smiled, signed the paper "Peace" and his name. It was Sinbad, in town for the filming of "Jingle All the Way." I did not pay much attention to his friend, but I believe now it was Halle Berry, whom he was dating at the time and had not attained the star status she now enjoys.
