Walther fights in St. Paul ‘Golden Gloves’ matches (01/28/2007)

In amateur boxing in Minnesota, Winona's Jake Walther, 16, defeated Roger Aldrete of Rochester this past December. Also in St. Paul this past weekend, Walther dropped a close decision to Winnipeg, Canada's River Davidson in an international match. Walther boxed well and traded punches with the more experienced Canadian in an action-packed fight. Jake fights out of the Winona Lion's Den Boxing Club in the Lightweight Division.
