From: Beth and Conway Elton
It was Thanksgiving Day three years ago and our familly had juist watched the Macy's Parade in New York. We were getting on the train, going back to New Canaan to our daughter's home, when I spotted someone who looked familiar. I sauntered over to my husband and said,"¯Don't look now, but isn't that someone we should know right over my shoulder behind me?"¯ He said, "Sure that's Mike Wallace."¯ I then turned and looked and Mr. Wallace gave me a wink. He knew what I was asking my husband. It turns out we walked up the stairs together to our track and he told us he had to sit a minute as he was out of breath. The escalators weren't working that day. Then we all proceeded to the same rail car. To our surprise he and his wife got off at our stop in New Canaan and a friend was waiting for them. She was parked right next to our daughter's car so we all walked to our cars together. He was very friendly and made small talk all the way to the car finally saying Happy Thanksgiving to us all. It was a surprise ending for a fun day. Well, the surprises were not quite all over. The kitchen was full of smoke when we got home as the turkey grease had just caught on fire when we walked in the door. Good timing all was OK.
