When my uncle, John Michalowski, was in the Air Force in World War II, he would frequent the USO performances that were given for servicemen. One that he will never forget featured Ginger Rogers as the star. Not only did he enjoy the show, he was selected from the crowd to dance with her! Not shy (he was a very good dancer), he enjoyed every minute of it. She told him she liked his red hair and freckles. After the dance, she autographed a picture of herself for him (enclosed). He remembers two special things about their dance together. First, that his arm went all the way around her waist because she was so slender, and next, how wonderful her perfume was! A great experience for a young man!
