Those of you who think you met someone famous beware and pay attention to this experience!
I have not met anyone famous that I'm aware of, but I have met people to whom I've uttered the words, "Has anyone ever told you you look like so-and so?" This is one such instance.
When my husband and I were first married and enjoying the poverty years while he was in school, we discovered the students of cosmetology at Fox Valley Tech in Appleton, WI, gave free haircuts provided you didn't mind being a guinea pig under their shears. While the instructor was guiding a young student clipping away at my hair I noticed the similarity between him and a famous comedian/actor/author. Sheldon, the instructor, said I wasn't the first to mention it. He went on to relate what happened to him while being delayed at an airport once. He and a friend shared a meal at this airport restaurant and the waitress insisted he was this famous person. Sheldon corrected her several times and even showed her his driver's license. She continued to insist he was this celebrity and begged an autograph. Sheldon's friend told him to humor her and so he signed the paper she'd given him "Steve Martin". If there's a waitress out there with a Steve Martin autograph, it may not be worth much but I'll bet ya can trade it in for a free hair cut!
(Since I got my hair cut people tell me I look like Ellen Degeneres)
