Managers have received their materials and game schedules. The exhibition games and regular season games begin the week of April 29, 2007.
ADULT SOFTBALL OFFICIAL ROSTERS
Official team rosters are due on or before 4:30 p.m., May 10, 2007. You may add or delete players until June 21st by having the manager call of stop in our office.
ADULT SOFTBALL LOCAL RULE OF THE WEEK
A player who steps in the batter's box and uses an illegal bat will be out, ejected for that game plus the next game-deadball situation, base runners must return to their original base. If a player uses an altered bat, the batter is out and ejected for the rest of the season. Safety standards for bats have been established by the ASA. A complete list of legal and illegal bats for ASA and league play is listed on the ASA website at www.softball.org, certified equipment section. (Bats are listed according to their manufacturer.) The ASA will update this list as additional bats are tested and retested. For non-approved 9illegal) bats the listing is at the same website, clicking on the appropriated area. All newly purchased bats that have been approved must have the ASA certification mark on them. All other legal bats must have the ASA re-certification mark, or bear the 2000 or 2004 ASA certification mark and must not be listed on an ASA non-approv3ed list and must be on an approved bat list published by the ASA. (As new bats are manufactured and tested these lists change.) (Special Note: Older bats will not have the ASA certification mark but are legal unless listed on the illegal bat list; if listed as illegal, would need the ASA certification mark before becoming legal again and be listed on the legal bat list. All legal bats must fit the umpire's bat ring, with no dents or cracks, be appropriately taped, and have a legal "knob". (Approved wood "softball" bats are also legal.)
