Cheryl Watson, 49, has lived in the Winona community for 26 years. She plans to give back to the community by helping raise funds to renovate a newly purchased building, located in downtown Winona, for community-focused outreach services.
She embarked in April on a five-month trek to complete the Pacific Crest Trail as a commitment to raise funds for this community project. The 2,650-mile journey winds from Mexico to Canada.
Cheryl shares a vision with her church for a building renovation that will create unique connecting points with the community. Envisioned plans for the building include a coffee shop, daycare and preschool services aimed at single and low income parents, areas for children and youth programs, and other community needs.
