ADULT BASKETBALL OFFICIAL ROSTERS

Your adult basketball rosters have been turned in but not without some teams receiving forfeits. Special Note: There are still a few teams who have not successfully completed their rosters, including names, signatures, addresses, phone #'s, birthdates, etc.-this includes the substitutes. Please take care of this immediately. You can add or delete to your officials roster until January 31, 2004, which must be done by stopping into the Park Rec. office. Our office is open from 8-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you have any questions, please call our office at 457-8258.

ADULT BASKETBALL LOCAL RULE OF THE WEEK

A minimum of four players must be present on each team in order to start a game. If a team cannot field at least four players by game time, it is a forfeit. If during the game, players are reduced to less than three, it's a forfeit.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S ADULT VOLLEYBALL RULE OF THE WEEK

January 23rd, 2004 - Last day to make any changes to the team roster and have it completely filled out.

FAMILY SWIM

The Park Recreation Department offers a free family swim program on Monday nights at the Winona Middle School Pool. The program runs from January 5th to March 1, 2004. There will be no swim on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 19, 2004. We provide lifeguards and locker room attendants for your safety. The program is open to all ages, with some guidelines. Call the Winona Park Rec. office at 457-8258 for more information.

ADULT KICKBALL LEAGUE

Coming in Fall of 2004! If you are interested, please call our office at 457-8258 and leave your name, address and phone number.

LIFEGUARD TRAINING COURSE

The Winona Park Recreation office is offering a lifeguard training course on March 11-14, 2004. For more information, please contact the Park Rec. office at 457-8258.

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The Winona Park Recreation office is offering a water safety instructor course on April 15-18, 2004. For more information, please contact the Park Rec. office at 457-8258.

SEMI-PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS

The Winona Park Recreation office is offering winter semi-private swim lessons, now through April 2004, Monday & Wednesday evenings for 2 weeks. All levels are offered, infant through level seven. Call the Park Rec. office at 457-8258 for more information.

PRESCHOOL OPEN GYM

Open to all preschoolers, daycare groups & families. Held Tuesday and Thursdays from 9-11 a.m., November 18th through April 22nd. There will be no preschool open gym on the week of December 23 and December 30 due to the holidays and building maintenance.

GLOBAL GROUP

Multi Cultural Activities: January 27 - February 12.

Programs are for ages 7-13 for 3 weeks on Tuesday and Thursdays after school-3:30-5:30 p.m. held at the East Rec. Center. Sign up now! Deadline is 5 working days prior to the start of each class, limit of 12.

ICE RINKS

The Winona Park Recreation Department will open one warming house for the winter season. The warming house for the lake lodge will be open the following hours beginning January 6, 2004.

Monday - Friday - 4:00 - 8:30 p.m. & Sat. & Sun - 1:00 - 8:30 p.m. The lake lodge warming house will stay open through January weather permitting. We will freeze skating rinks in other locations throughout Winona. We will try to make ice at the following locations weather permitting. Knopp Valley, Valley Oaks, Wincrest, East Recreation Center, Aquatic Center parking lot, and Tillman. There will not be warming house attendants at these locations due to recent budget cuts. If you skate at either the Aquatic Center or the East Recreation Center, bathroom facilities will be open during regular recreation center hours at the West Recreation Center and East Recreation Center. Please remove your skates prior to entering these facilities.

Outdoor hockey can be played at the Bud King land rink adjacent to the Bud King Ice Arena (454-7775) and Tillman Park. If you have any questions on the availability of ice, please contact the Park Rec. Office at 457-8258 or the cancellation line at 457-8220.

ACTIVITIES CANCELLATION NUMBER-457-8220

For your convenience, the Winona Park Recreation Department has a cancellation number that you can call in case of bad weather, call 457-8220. If you feel a game, practice or special event might be cancelled; you may call this number. Listen carefully and follow the directions given on the recording. If there is no recording or an outdated recording, it means that there are NO CANCELLATIONS at that time. Cancellations will also be made on the radio stations. Please use this service instead of calling our office number.

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS

If you have lost any items, such as keys, softball gloves jackets, etc. During our programs or when using our facilities, we may have them in our lost and found box at the Park Rec. office, City Hall. Please stop in to identify the items.

CITY HALL OFFICE HOURS

All City Hall offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

ACTIVE WELLNESS CENTER

Do you want stronger arms for better hugs? Or do you want to age on your own terms, then come to the new Active Wellness Center at the Senior Friendship Center. Memberships available for persons 55 and over. Stop in the Park Recreation Department in City Hall, to purchase your membership or call the Winona Senior Friendship Center at 454-5212 for more information on our Active Wellness Center. As of December 1st, it is time to renew your 2003 membership, stop in the Park Rec. office to get your 2004 membership, please remember to bring your 2003 membership tag with you.
