Naturalist Programs

Unless noted, all programs begin at the Whitewater Valley Visitor
Center (Park Office).
Friday, June 1
8-9p.m. Mystery Animal Slide Show - Join us for Whitewater's
game show. Guess the animals, get points, and win prizes! (Everybody wins!) The whole family will enjoy this unique, participatory slide show on Minnesota's wildlife.
Saturday, June 6
8-8:30a.m. Tweets and Treats - Join the Park Naturalist at the visitor center*s feeding station for some good bird watching, treats (hot beverages and cookies) and conversation. The feeding station is the best place in the park to see birds. With the sound system you can hear the birds at the feeding station!
Mid-Morning Yellow Lady*s Slipper Walk * The yellow lady*s-slipper and showy orchis are still in bloom! See these orchids as well as other favorite spring wildflowers. Bring transportation for the short drive to the trailhead. The walk is moderately strenuous. Call 507-932-3007 extension 0, or stop at the visitor center for reservations and exact time.
12-2p.m. Make a Fish Print Tee Shirt * Hey kids! Want to make a unique shirt with a fish print on it? Bring a white tee shirt to the Nature Store and Guest Naturalists Rita Brom and Patrice Lager will assist you in making your own special fish shirt. (You*ll get to know Minnesota*s fish a little better too!) Meet at the Nature Store.
These programs are provided free of charge, but state park vehicle permits are required. In addition to attending programs, you are invited to use the park's self-guided interpretive services, including visitor center exhibits and self-guided trails. A number of history and nature related videos are available for free viewing in the visitor center.
