Houston Nature Center event June 9 (06/03/2007)
Firewood! 7:00 PM Saturday, June 9 at Houston Nature Center

Did you know that it's now illegal to bring your own firewood if you plan to camp in a Minnesota State Park, state forest land or other state owned property? The bug behind this new law is the emerald ash borer, an alien species that is killing all ash species in its wake. Minnesota DNR Forest Entomologist Val Cervenka will give you the low-down on the emerald ash borer's progress, its devastation, what it means for our area, and what you can do to help save your ash trees.

This program is free and open to the public. The Houston Nature Center is located one block north of the intersection of Hwys 16 & 76 in Houston, MN in Trailhead Park.
