ADULT SOFTBALL RULE OF THE WEEK-LOCAL
Infield Fly Rule - is in effect when there are less than two outs and there are runners on 1st and 2nd base or if the bases are loaded. If the batter hits an "easily catch-able infield fly"¯, the batter is out and the runners may advance at their own risk. The key is an "easily catch-able infield fly"¯. Clarifications: an infielder may turn his/her back to the infield and still be considered and "easily catch-able infield fly"¯.
