Guided Canoe Tour and Prairie Blooms Walk to take place at Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge
Saturday, July 7th, Trempealeau Refuge will be offering a guided canoe tour. The tour will be led by a park ranger through the pristine backwaters of the refuge. Paddlers should meet at the refuge boat ramp at 8:15 AM. The tour is scheduled to go until 10:00 AM which includes unloading, loading and some basic canoeing tips at the boat launch. Actual paddling time will last approximately 1 ½ hours. The canoe tour is open to visitors of all ages and is free of charge. Parties with children must bring a lifejacket for their child. Please join us to discover the wonders of a wetland! Space is limited and registration is required. Please register no later than 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 5th.
If prairies are your passion, then this is the walk for you! On Saturday, July 14th, Refuge volunteers will lead a guided walk in the prairie to highlight and identify some of the current prairie blooms. The walk will meet at the Prairie View Trail parking lot at 10:00 AM and will last approximately 1½ hours. The walk is open to visitors of all ages and is free of charge. Please register for the walk before 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 12th.
