Winona area Junior Golf Championship winners (07/25/2007)

Jason Nachtweth won the Winona Area Junior Golf Championship held at Cedar Valley Golf Course on Monday, July 9, in a sudden death playoff over Brian Russell of Winona. They both finished the 27 holes with a score of 118. Jason, a native of Winona, but now living in Arizona, made a par four on the first playoff hole for the victory. Brad Presshl of Onalaska, finished third with a score of 121.

Emily Swift of Onalaska won the girl's 15-18 age group. She fired a great round of 80 for 18 holes. Jill Presshl of Onalaska was the runner-up with a score of 83 and McKenzie Holthaus of Galesville was third with an 85.

Other age group winners were:

14 and 15 group: 1st, Aaron Theis, Winona, 78; 2nd, Mitch Sabotta, Arcadia, 79. There was a three-way tie for third at 83 - Jackson Penning, John Gasper and Frank Wychgram, all of Winona.

13 age group: 1st, William Leaf, Winona, 82; 2nd, Cory Strom, Lanesboro, 84; 3rd, Jason Edstrom, Winona, 90.

10 to 12 group: 1st, Bobby Mullen, Winona, 42; 2nd, Andre Joyce, Stewartville, 44; 3rd, Logan Ellinghuysen, Winona, 52.

9 and under 6 holes: Zach Hughes, Minnesota City, 28; 2nd Brady Borkowski, Lewiston, 29; 3rd, San Wageman, Rochester, 32.

Girls 12-14: 1st, Alli Path, Onalaska, 45; 2nd, Tia Benson, Winona, 56; 3rd, Brianna Kinstler, Lewiston, 61.

Girls 10-11: 1st MacKenzie Olson, Stewartville, 52; 2nd, Elizabeth Hennessy, Lewiston, 53; 3rd, Abbe Partington, Winona, 59.

Girls 9 and under: 1st, MacKayla Olsen, Stewartville, 42; 2nd, Krista Barnholtz, Winona, 60.
