Tree & Shrub Walk
Saturday, August 11, 7:00 PM
Houston Nature Center
Have you ever wondered how "ninebark" got its name? Did you know that there's an evergreen tree that loses all of its needles every fall? Or that highbush cranberries aren't really cranberries? In this program you'll be introduced to over 40 different trees and shrubs at the Houston Nature Center and find out the answers to these questions. Most of the trees and shrubs you'll see are native to this area and good for attracting wildlife.
This program is free and open to the public. The Houston Nature Center is located one block north of the intersection of Hwys 16 & 76 in Houston in Trailhead Park. For more information call 507-896-4668 or e-mail nature@acegroup.cc.
