The recipients of the 2007 Outstanding Women's Awards have been announced by Women in Business (WIB). Eight outstanding women from the community will be honored at the Women In Business luncheon, on Thursday, October 18. The luncheon will be held at Signatures at the Vision Center, beginning at 11:30 AM.
The 2007 recipients are:
Barbara Breza, Outstanding Woman of Business, a respected business professional, who has worked as a Custom Training Representative for Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical for over 9 years.
Cindy Althoff, Outstanding Woman in Education, the Director of the Miller Mentoring program at the Winona Senior High School and the Winona Middle School.
Mary Hewett, Outstanding Woman of Human Services, Executive Director of the Winona County Developmental Achievement Center (DAC).
Lynette Power, Outstanding Woman of Arts and Humanities, an accomplished artist who created the original cast for the popular Blue Heron Project in Winona.
Sharon Flatten, Outstanding Woman of Land and Home, a professional volunteer, who is being honored for her contributions to community.
Susan Cooper, Outstanding Woman in Government, has served as the Assistant Winona County Attorney for over 18 years.
Patti Volkman, Outstanding Woman of Health and Wellness, the Director of Nursing at Lake Winona Manor.
Angela Buck, Outstanding Young Woman, an outstanding student at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, who gives of her time and talents in many ways.
The cost of a ticket for the awards luncheon is $15 per person and must be purchased by October 5. Tickets can be purchased at:
