The students and staff of the Winona Area Learning Center(WALC) are looking forward to the opening of their new school at 1299 West Third Street on Monday, December 10. The new phone number will be 494-1460 and the new fax number is 494-1465.
The district will move from the old WALC at 926 West Fifth Street on December 6 and 7. During these moving days, the WALC child care center will be closed.
On December 19 and 20, Community Education's Adult Literacy program will be moved from McKinley United Methodist Church to the new WALC facility. Their ESL and GED programs will resume in their new classroom space on Thursday, January 3, 2008.
Community Education's COMPASS ABE class will begin holding classes at the new WALC on Thursday, January 17 and Early Childhood Screening, also offered through the district's Community Education office, will begin screening 3 and 4 year olds in the new school on January 10, 2008.
