A Matter of Faith (01/20/2008)
Unspeakable joy

From: David Foss

Galesville, Wis.

Wouldn't it be marvelous and pleasantly tranquil, if we had the delightful opportunity to sign an agreement that would allow us citizenship to a Utopian place, a place void of hatefulness, a place void of sorrow, a place void of all physical ailments and disease, a place void of hospitals and nursing home centers, a place void of death, a place where we would be able to worship God without persecution, a place completely void of all abomination, a place where everyone would love one another, a place just the opposite of a Sodom and Gomorrah (America?) - a perfect place?

This may be difficult to believe, but there are many people who would not sign such an agreement that would allow them citizenship to this Utopian place. Why? Because many indifferent, unwise haters of goodness have no desire to pry away the evil hatred that has infested their hearts. These people are not willing to break away from the evil of God-hating Marxist, socialist ideology, immorality, abortion, Biblical Christian hating, anti-American demagoguing, murder, fornication, adultery, thievery, lying, idolatry, whoremongering, sorcery, abomination, cowardism and unbelief. Can anyone imagine why anyone would be so astonishingly foolish in not signing an agreement to live in a Utopian place? Is an airlock able to keep anything safe? Well, these people will do something even more unbelievably foolish, because these people will reject God who has created a real, and perfect place called heaven. All they have to do is accept Him as Lord and Savior and they will experience the unspeakable joy that will come from having citizenship in heaven.

Can we even imagine a world completely void of every trial and tribulation of life - a sin-free world? We can't imagine such a place because there is so much evil amongst us. We hear about evil, we see evil, we read about evil and we sense evil. No one is exempt from being negatively affected because of the evil that is in the hearts of so many willfully wayward and devilishly obstinate individuals.

We can't envision living where hatred is nonexistent, a place where we won't see, hear, sense or read about hatred day after day like a maddening drip, drip, drip. What a glorious place! A place where no one will be imprisoned, tortured or killed because of his or her belief in Jesus Christ or because of their disagreement with a tyrannical dictator, etc. We could forever breathe a breath of fresh air. How wonderful to exist - eternally - in a sin-free (perfect) environment! How wonderful to live in a place where everyone loves one another, a place where our heavenly Father also lives. It would seem an absolute impossibility that so many people would not want to live in a perfect world, a sin-free world, heaven. What is even more bewildering is that these people have probably considered the alternative. This asininity shows us the power of hatred, the power of Satan's influence. I John 4:4

Where will we be experiencing unspeakable joy? Revelation 21:9-27 When will we be experiencing unspeakable joy? II Corinthians 5-8 Who will be experiencing unspeakable joy? John 3:36 Who will not be experiencing unspeakable joy? John 6:40,47

When we realize and know (I John 5:13) that we will have citizenship in God's new heaven and new earth, how can we not be full of unspeakable joy?

Ponder II Corinthians 9:15 I Peter 1:8-9 Isaiah 51:11 Acts 2:28
